"When we strive to pass wilderness legislation, what we are really engaged in is democracy at work."

A Wilderness Milestone in Alburquerque

Wilderness advocates from around the nation converged on Albuquerque in October 2014 for the National Wilderness Conference, shaping an irresistible force to preserve American wilderness. Among the many hundreds of attendees were storied leaders of the wilderness movement, past and present—ranging from Terry Tempest Williams to Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, and so many more. It was thrilling, exciting and daunting to be in the presence of these vibrant environmental leaders.
